BRINGING HISTORY TO LIFE

Showcasing the history of Wiradjuri Culture through traditional art.

Commissioned Art

Duncan has a deep family connection to art, instilled by his mother who taught him about its significance and techniques. Building on this foundation, he has developed his own unique style, painting with acrylic paint and ochre. His paintings vividly reflect his profound connection to the land, capturing its essence and beauty in every piece.

Art Workshops

Our art workshops offer an immersive experience in learning traditional Aboriginal art, painting, and techniques. Led by skilled artists, these workshops provide participants with hands-on instruction in the use of authentic materials and methods. Attendees gain a deep understanding of the cultural significance behind each technique while creating their own unique pieces. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, our workshops offer a meaningful and enriching opportunity to connect with the rich heritage of Aboriginal art.

Family Circles

Our Family Circles service is a unique and inspiring program where children are encouraged to explore and express their own families and lives through the medium of traditional Aboriginal techniques. Guided by experienced artists, children learn to paint using authentic methods and materials, connecting with their cultural heritage and personal stories. This service not only fosters creativity but also provides a meaningful way for young artists to celebrate and preserve their family's traditions and experiences through art.

Ochre Grinding
into art

Ochre grinding is a deeply significant practice in Wiradjuri culture, symbolising a profound connection to the land and its ancient traditions. Ochre, a naturally occurring pigment, has been used for thousands of years in Aboriginal art for painting on bodies, rocks, and ceremonial objects. The process of grinding ochre into fine powder and mixing it for use in artwork is not merely a technical skill but a cultural ritual that embodies the spiritual and ancestral ties to the earth. This practice reflects the Wiradjuri people's respect for the natural world and their enduring legacy of storytelling through art.
